Comleroy Road Public School is located in the rolling hills east of Kurrajong in a semi- rural area of the Hawkesbury district. The majority of students come from an English speaking background. The school has modern buildings on an eighteen acre bush land site, providing a pleasant, welcoming and aesthetically pleasing learning environment. The school community is very supportive, participating in many aspects of school life.
Comleroy Road Public School aims to be an innovative school. A sense of belonging is fostered through a systematic approach to assist students to achieve in school. The incorporation of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) aims at creating an environment that fosters school success. Our school-wide discipline plan aims at reducing incidents and setting the stage for our school students to be Safe, Respectful Learners for life.
We offer a wide range of learning opportunities to enable students to reach their full potential. Our extensive extracurricular and enrichment programs include choir, recorder, Tournament of Minds, dance ensembles, public speaking and debating. We pride ourselves on our sports program which concentrates on fun, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. There are numerous opportunities for students to represent the school in school and representative carnivals and NSWPSSA events. Students of all ages are offered opportunities to develop their leadership through our Student representative Council and Student Leadership positions.
Comleroy Road Public School is well resourced and innovative to the needs of 21st Century learners. We have interactive whiteboards in all classrooms, computer labs in classes and the library and banks of mobile tablet technology that is utilised in all classrooms. We also house an extensive library and provide support staff and programs such as Reading Recovery for students requiring extra assistance in the classroom.
A welcoming and friendly school, we work in close partnership with parents and the wider community. Our staff are very experienced yet constantly seeking professional learning opportunities that will enhance and modify their teaching practices. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in school activities and to have valued input into their child's learning.
